WasteWatchers Energy Audit update
More
than 35 householders have been putting themselves to the carbon test
through the WasteWatchers scheme. They have received a
detailed
audit shwoing how much energy they use and greenhouse gas they produce.
For some householders, Plymouth University's thermal imaging camera
revealed where heat was leaking from the house, and proved to be a
vivid reminder to improve the insulation.
We've found that our sample of Bovey householders are an innovative lot, with mnay finding novel ways of reducing energy use, reusing waste products and investing in new technologies.
Some of those whose energy use was higher than average asked how they could learn from what other people are doing, so we'll be sharing some experiences soon. It is good to see that the average personal transport emission of our sample is 3311kg, against the UK average of 5900kg.
If you want to get a WasteWatchers energy audit, contact us on 0845 478 6311. If you want a thermal image of your house, you'll be put on a waiting list until the autumn as it needs to be taken on a cold day when the heating is on.
