BCA is helping Bovey Town Mayor, Councillor Alan Griesiell in his campaign to get the town's shops to stop handing out plastic bags. Inspired by wildlife film-maker Rebecca Hosking's example in Modbury, we're making traders aware of the damage plastic bags do to the environment, in particular marine wildlife. We're also doing our homework on finding wholesalers who produce eco-friendly alternatives to plastic carrier bags. You can do your bit by taking a bag with you when you shop, and refusing the free plastic bags that some shops (no names!) try to give you. More on the project here.

revamped website

look more like the BCA newsletter, with new pages and content.
There's also an online forum to share knowledge and ideas. We
